Volunteer Opportunities

We have the following opportunities for volunteer assistance.

Health Fair Representatives • Community Group Presentations • Individual Guidance

Requirements: All volunteers are to have

  • Advance Directive
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Ability to lift/transport 40 lbs

Teaching and or health care experience preferable. Training for each volunteer opportunity is provided.

Individuals with an appreciation for personal and professional courtesies that pre-date the internet era are encouraged to contact us.

Health Fairs:

  • Pick up inventory from Coalition office or satellite offices.
  • Set up of exhibitor table
  • Greet and engage exhibit table visitors
  • Breakdown of exhibitor table.
  • Completion of event survey (if applicable)
  • Complete Coalition event metric/assessment

Civic/Faith/Community Group presentations

  • Enjoy the breakfast, lunch, or dinner the civic/community group provides
  • Use Coalition PowerPoint slides for applicable group presentations (narrative provided)
  • Distribute As You Wish materials to audience members
  • Refer any inquiries to the Coalition office
  • Complete Coalition event metric/assessment

Advance Directive Guidance

  • Assist individuals in understanding the process of advance care planning and the content of the Virginia Advance Directive for Health Care.
  • Provide assistance/guidance to individuals in their home or a neutral location that is conducive to their comfort in addressing their understanding of end-of-life care and documentation of their wishes.
  • Completing/submitting the Coalition forms associated with the guidance event.
  • Complete Coalition event metric/assessment
